Listening Matching Drills Practice Tests Get access

These Listening Matching Drills help you practise matching people to opinions, items to features, or events to dates/details. This question type is common in Part 2. It tests how fast you can connect what you hear to the correct option. Before you listen, look at the list of options first. Write a short keyword beside each option if needed. Do not expect the speaker to use the exact same words. The audio will often use synonyms or paraphrases. While listening, follow one person, item, or event at a time. Write the match as soon as you clearly hear the answer. Be careful with words like however, but, in contrast, and while because these words may change the meaning. Do not choose an option just because it is mentioned. Sometimes, the speaker mentions an idea but rejects it. The correct match is the idea that the speaker clearly supports, prefers, chooses, or confirms. After listening, check if the match is directly supported. Ask: Did the speaker agree with this idea, or only mention it? ⚠️Important Warning: Some tests may show blue question numbers and orange question numbers. If orange numbers are present, ignore the blue numbers. Follow the orange numbers because these are the numbers the speaker will mention in the audio. The blue numbers are only for organizing the test. The same rule applies to section numbers or section names. If orange section labels are shown, follow the orange labels only. Do not follow the blue labels when orange labels are present.
